Connect QuickBooks. We configure the close to your chart of accounts, run it against your real books, and hand you a complete month-end package inside two weeks — full reconciliation against every payment processor, every gap flagged, and a plain-language narrative explaining why revenue moved.
Then you decide whether you ever want to do month-end yourself again.
One real month of your books, closed the way a controller would close them. Everything below is delivered as a single exported packet you can hand to your accountant, your lender, or your board without editing it first.
Every bank account and every payment processor reconciled against the general ledger — Stripe, Square, PayPal, merchant services, whatever you run. Deposits matched to the batches that produced them, fees separated from revenue.
Unmatched deposits, duplicate entries, miscategorized expenses, transactions sitting in Ask My Accountant, and anything that does not tie. Each one listed with the specific transaction and the amount, so it can be fixed rather than argued about.
A written explanation of why the numbers moved. Not a variance table — sentences. Which jobs carried the month, which costs ran over, what changed against the prior period, and what it means for next month.
Balance sheet, P&L, cash summary, reconciliation detail, and the exception list, assembled into one document. Formatted to be read by someone who is not an accountant.
We go through the packet together on a call. What every section means, which exceptions matter and which are noise, and what your books would need in order to close this way every month. Recorded, so you can send it to whoever else needs it.
That is the whole ask. You do not prepare anything, clean anything up first, or learn any software. Books that are behind or messy are the normal starting condition, not a disqualifier.
Read-only accountant access to your QuickBooks Online company. You grant it from your own account and revoke it the same way, whenever you want.
Read access to whatever takes money in — Stripe, Square, PayPal, your merchant portal. This is what makes the reconciliation real rather than a bank-feed match.
How your chart of accounts is organized, which month to close, what you actually want to know from it, and who else will read the packet.
Dates are commitments, not estimates. If something is going to slip, you hear it from William before the date, not after.
Twenty minutes. We walk your chart of accounts, agree which month we are closing, and identify the processors that need to reconcile. Access is granted on this call.
The close is built around your accounts, not a template — account mappings, materiality thresholds, which categories get scrutiny, how your processors deposit, and what the output needs to look like. This is the part the setup fee actually pays for.
Reconciliation against every account and processor, exception detection, and the first pass at the narrative. Anything ambiguous gets a question sent to you rather than a guess written into the packet.
William reviews every exception personally, resolves what can be resolved, and assembles the packet. Nothing goes out that has not been read by a person.
You get the packet, then the 30-minute walkthrough. At that point you own the document outright, whether or not you continue.
Handing someone access to your books is a real decision. Here is the boundary, stated plainly enough to hold you to it.
Your books stay in your QuickBooks account — we never take a copy of your ledger. Access is read-only unless you explicitly grant more, is held under your own user permissions, and is revoked the moment you ask. Working files are kept for the length of the engagement and deleted on request. Nothing is sold, shared with third parties, or used to train any model.
One month, closed properly, delivered within two weeks. Refundable in full if the packet is not delivered.
Delivered personally by William. No outsourcing.
Get Your First Close — $497For context: a bookkeeper runs $500–$2,500 a month. A fractional controller runs $3,000–$8,000.
Yes. We produce the close package. Your bookkeeper or CPA handles filing, tax strategy, and advisory. The two roles do not overlap — most owners find the close package makes their accountant's job faster and cheaper.
Your books stay in your QuickBooks account. Access is read-only unless you explicitly grant more, and it is revoked whenever you ask. Nothing is sold, shared, or used to train any model.
That is the point. Gaps, unreconciled deposits, miscategorized expenses, and duplicates get flagged with the specific transactions involved. Finding them is the deliverable, not a failure of it.
If the packet is not delivered, yes, in full. If it is delivered and you decide not to continue, the $497 covered the work and is not refunded.
If you move to any recurring Back Office plan, the full $497 is credited against your first month. On the Books plan at $897 per month, your first invoice is $400.
William A. Green Jr., personally. No outsourcing, no junior staff, no handoffs. The same person who scopes the engagement reviews every exception before the packet goes out.
Book the kickoff call. Two weeks later you have a finished close packet and a clear answer about whether you ever want to do month-end yourself again.
